5.0 out of 5 stars Revereware replacement handle, May 5, 2014

I couldn't bring myself to throw out this perfectly good, 12" Revereware fry pan just because the handle had gotten broken. Of course it was useless without a heat insulating handle so it remained unused for decades until i finally remembered to look for a replacement online. It was very quick and easy to order and the same to replace the missing handle. Of course the replacement was not Bakelite as the original had been but for all practical purposeses it works and looks the same. I was so pleased that it inspired me to throw out my plastic coated cookware and replace every piece with Revereware pieces I found at Goodwill. They're so beautiful that I hung them on a bar in my kitchen, which also makes them handier to use.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pineapple upside-down cake, November 11, 2015

Fit perfectly. No modifications needed. By inserting hanger hook into both handles then rotate one half-handle out of the way and insert stinger of pan into the other half-handle, rotate the first half-handle into place and insert inboard screw first and just engage by a couple threads. Then insert second screw and tighten snugly. Then tighten inboard screw snugly, Cook a pineapple upside-down cake to celebrate the successful handle replacement and enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, but may require a little modding to get a propper fit., September 11, 2014

I love the replacement handle. I used it on 3 different pans. It was a perfect fit for 2/3. On one of my pans, I had to take a little off of the inside replacement handle in order to get it to fit flush. I used a dremel to shave a little of the Bakelite off where it was hitting a rivet on the metal portion of the pan handle. These look great

Product Description

These are x-large sized replacement handles for vintage era Revere Ware pans. These parts are newly manufactured and are made to look and work just like original Revere Ware handles.

Material: Bakelite, stainless steel

Includes: Two handle halves + hardware set Measurements: 5.7 in (145 mm) long, 3.7 in (95 mm) between holes on center.

Fits: Vintage era 8 in pans, 10 in & 12 in skillets, 10 in square skillets, large griddles, and possibly others. These fit Revere Ware pans with handles that have two screws through the Bakelite.

Hardware Notes
The screws in the hardware set are Phillips head, not slotted like the original Revere Ware screw sets were. Because the original slot head screws strip very easily, we consider this an improvement.

Bakelite Notes
Bakelite is a great heat resistant material, but it can be a bit brittle. The most important thing is to not over tighten the screws when assembling the pan handle or you can crack the handle.
These parts are not oven-save. Washing in a dishwasher may dull the finish over time.

Installation Notes
We have seen about 5% of handles where the screw holes are off just enough to make it very hard to get the nuts to go all the way through. The is just a natural variation in the original Revere manufacturing process. A slight widening of the holes on the metal spline will allow the handles to fit.
